Tasks

  • participate in the detector development program of the European XFEL
  • develop, design, test and commission circuit boards and layout concepts for detector electronics components
  • design and install infrastructure for testing of electronics components, including prototypes
  • perform system-level tests of detector electronics from front to backend
  • participate in the preparation of system concepts of the next generation X-ray imaging detectors
  • support integration of detector components into the instrument and conduction of system tests
  • support performance testing and maintenance of detectors in use at the EuXFEL photon beam lines

Hard skills

  • electronics engineering university degree or equivalent work experience
  • experience in circuit board development, design and testing
  • experience in system testing and commissioning
  • experience in testing, operation and maintenance of advanced silicon X-ray detectors is an asset
  • experience in working independently, as well as in a team
  • good communication skills and ability to work in a structured way in a multi-lingual, multidisciplinary team with English as working language
